About the Event

My   project is a one-woman show exploring the different, yet merging and   inseparable aspects of performing identity. Because of the intersecting   nature of identity, my performance will attempt to encapsulate the issues   that I, personally, am continually questioning, including gender, emotional,   romantic, and physical expression.

The basic structure of my performance will consist of four acts, each act   beginning with a different character reading from their diary. These   characters are personal to me, in that I see them as representing both the   most incredible aspects of my identity, and the most fatal of my flaws.   Jef’son opens the show as the overindulgent yet thoughtful frat bro. Brandi   is an East Londoner representing obsessive and delusional love. The third act   is a clowning performance symbolizing escapism and repression.
