Written and directed by Emmy Award nominated writer, Ma'at Atkins, and co directed by Andrea Carlton, The Goodlucks is a story about the value of awards in the entertainment industry and how it effects people’s mindset and ego.


Set in Chelsea, NY present day, the cast of characters are the husband, Bert Goodluck, a stalwart theater actor who produced a hit Broadway stage play,  Ossie and Ruby, on the life of acting husband and wife Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.


 His wife, Juanita Tyson, is a successful film star, who becomes the star of the play, yet reluctantly wants to continue with touring the play. Hence, conflict ensues.


The conflict culminates when the couple becomes anxious about the possibility of becoming the first  married African American couple to be nominated for a major theater award.
