About the Event

RATING | PG-13

Genre: Performance Art

After premiering this show in Chicago at this year’s inaugural Women of Color Puppetry and Performing Arts Fringe Festival, Missouri writer and disability advocate Arkay Adkisson brings her work to the St. Louis stage.

A raw and unapologetic exploration of self-love, grief, and healing, My Flesh is a three-part prose poem of transformation. The performance begins as a celebration of the fat body—bold and defiant in its beauty—before diving deep into the shadow work within.

How would you cope with the loss of a body you loved?

In respect to the art and the artist’s disability, phones and flash photography are not allowed.
