In the year 2064, a Virtual Reality app, titled Platforms, allows users to meet with strangers through AI-generated private chat rooms. Mason, a brooding 20-something-year-old boy, wanders his Platform alone. Though desperate for connection, he skeptically rejects all requests to join the space. That is until he meets Lola, an exceptionally charming and seemingly genuine 20-something-year-old girl. "Longing" is an almost-sci-fi, almost-romance that explores the impact of technology on human connection.
