In the Moment

In the Moment is a play told through reality-TV confessionals. It’s the gay season of Love in the Treehouse, a wacky dating show, until catastrophe isolates Joshua and Harry on set. With the world beyond them entirely uncertain, these moments are preserved as an archive of apocalypse.

About the Event

RATING | PG-13

Genre: Theatre

In the Moment is a one hour, two-person play told entirely through reality-TV “in-the-moment” confessionals. It’s the gay season of "Love in the Treehouse," a wacky dating show set in a treehouse in rural Canada. Joshua, a shy and neurotic trans guy, finds himself drawn to Harry, the effortlessly-cool playboy. At first, it’s just cute dates and awkward sound bites, but the edges start to fray: food shortages, labor issues, murmurs of political unrest. Eventually, they are alone; communication is lost; there has been a global catastrophe they have somehow survived. They keep speaking to the camera, and we see the highs and lows of their love and labors. With the world beyond them entirely uncertain, these moments are preserved as an archive of apocalypse.
