Beginning its global journey in Tokyo in 2015, Broken Bone Bathtub began as an immersive theatre project taking place inside a bathtub, in an actual home. After a serious bike accident, Siobhán O’Loughlin — in her mid twenties — mustered up the courage to ask for help.  She borrowed the bathtubs of friends all over New York City, and found herself in a rather vulnerable, tender, and honest space as her community supported her in taking a bath. This real life experience transformed into the interactive cult classic performance, where audience members are cast as those very friends, not only in listening to Siobhán’s story, but sharing their own, and assisting the cast-clad artist, just as had truly happened to her years ago.
