About the Event
RATING | R
Most of us know the story of Jesus of Nazareth, who was believed to have been crucified and resurrected during his 33rd year of life. We don't know the less consequential story of Janelle the Goblin who pissed everyone off her 33rd year of life, but rose up to become her most authentic self.
This story is the semi-fictionalized version of Janelle the Goblin’s 33rd trip around the sun. She explores how a life-changing chain of events from rage quitting her crisis job, to a mysterious illness, to leaving her evangelical church, to meeting the love of her life, led Janelle the Goblin to realize what it looks like to be an autistic ADHDer– and become her most authentic self along the way. Guest performers will playback, heighten, and engage her story through sketch, improv, singing, and dancing.
Urban Dictionary defines Jesus Year “The 33rd year of your life where you are reborn in some sense. Perhaps a mid-life crisis, perhaps an ego death, perhaps the year where you abandon old ways and start new.”
